Three people died in the Netherlands after a truck crashed into a neighborhood barbecue near Rotterdam.
“The cargo truck crashed into a group of people while they were at a neighborhood barbecue,” Rotterdam police said on their Twitter account. “There are several dead and many more have been taken to hospital.”
Police said they were investigating what caused the truck to leave the road in the village of NieuwBeijerland, south of Rotterdam, and land next to an embankment at around 7pm.
The injured were attending a barbecue at the local ice club IJsclub in Kom about 18 miles south of Rotterdam when the truck left the road at the narrow Zuidzijdsedijk and crashed into the gathering.
